Can ownership of folders in a former employee's Dropbox account be transferred to a current employee's Dropbox account? The 'team member' option can't work as we don't have an 'Admin' account.

The two Dropbox accounts in question, were set up individually with their company email address and direct debit via their company credit cards. The former employee's credit card has been cancelled, yet the direct debit has still been processed for the Dropbox account. We wish to take ownership of the files and then cancel the account attached to the company email and credit card.

Hi Jane!

In a nutshell, the person who has access to the email account connected with the Dropbox account owns the Dropbox account. This is regardless who paid for the account.

If this is a company email and you have access to your former employees' company email accounts, you could reset the password and gain access to the company Dropbox account. 

We recommend you to try out Dropbox Business, which amongst other features, gives you administrative controls over issues like these.
