How to make the most of your 2GB of free space: A complete Guide

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

At one point, you may have asked yourself how you could get more than 2GB of free space. Heck, you may have even googled it! But what appears usually makes you click on someones referral link, and you might not want to give a complete stranger space, or maybe the link didn't work. So, I present to you (drumroll please):

Dillon's Complete Guide on how to maximise your storage (for free!)

Method #1: Complete the "getting started" bonus.

If you've ever wandered into the mysterious depths of the "billing" section of your account, you may have found a hidden gem, mystical light radiating off of it. When you take a closer look, you find a set of tasks, each one getting you one step closer to 250 Megabytes of free space! That's approximately 173.611111111 Floppy disks (or 1 256 megabyte SD card from 2003). Just complete 5 of them, and all that space is yours to keep!

Method #2: Peer pressure Influence your friends and family into signing up with your special link.

Also in the "billing" section of your account, there's a button, that, when pressed, copies a link to your virtual clipboard for you to share on FaceJournal, Tweeter, 3-mail, or even AIM (jk), oh and there's also SMS. When your friends and family sign up and install the app on their devices, both you, and them get 500 Megabytes of free storage space! Talk about a great deal! You can get up to 16 GB (32 friends referred) added to your account.

Method #3: Look for deals on a new computer you might have purchased recently.

Ok, this one doesn't apply to everyone, but it might for some people. Some computer manufacturers bundle free trials to services that one might find useful when setting up their computer (antivirus, cloud storage, office apps) HP and Dell are a few companies that offer deals such as "20 GB of free DropBox storage space for 1 Year" Whether the deal be written in the instruction manual, inside the manufacturer's app that came preinstalled (something along the lines of "HP Assist" or "Dell Support") or wherever else, you can take advantage of it by entering a special code when you sign up.

That's all the ways I know of, if you know any more, feel free to comment them so everyone can use them. Just don't post links to malicious sites or your personal referral link (c'mon, we're civilised beings, no self promo!)
