Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Can we have different plans / price points / data combinations / plan sizes?

Hi, I find limited in the choices of subscription plans. Basic/free and Pro/110$

I'd gladly pay something like 25$ a year for 50GB and a 2 users family plan.

Considering iCloud have a 12$ plan for 20 GB and 48$ for 200GB, that seems reasonable..

While the argument continues as to whether DB is worth it or not rages on.. I have some questions that I hope can be answered by the community.?

So… Say I upgrade to dropbox pro .  With that you get 1TB of storage correct?  Say in a years time I use 100GB(an awful lot!).... sooooo when I have to renew a year later, I will have to pay a renewal of $99 again correct?? But won't I be renewing for $99 and only have 900GB left??  Or do I start over with an additional 1TB of additional memory the next year as well?

I guess where this comes into play is if it is total storage space.. then at some point in time... say 5 years from now..., I'll be renewing my 1TB for $99, have 900 GB used and only have 100GB left?? Or again..  do I start the year out with 1TB again??

This isn't an argument I just want to know how it works?

Whitetail, Your storage quota is always going to be 1 TB. Your paying $99/yr for access to 1TB of space. Whether you use it all or not is up to you but it's available. When you renew that same 1TB is available if you're using 100GB then 900GB is available for additional files.

Thank you.. so it is the scenario that I have depicted above then... and that is..  at "some point" in time you could be at 900 GB and only have 100 GB left correct? Yet still be paying $99 that year.

Just trying to understand how it works.

Whitetail, Yup - you got it. I ended up going for Amazon, might not have all of DB's bells and whistles but I would rather pay $59.99 a year and get as much as I need. So I did. I am currently on 59GB but some people have 100+TB in their accounts (Digital Hoarders)

What Amazon storage plan are you referring to.?

Amazon Cloud Drive, they only do 1 unlimited storage for £59,99 or $59,99

Hi Dropbox

I have used dropbox for long time, and I now ready for upgrading to paid dropbox services. But I have some ideas, may you take a look at this.

I saw your service prices staring from 1024GB with $8.25/mo, but I really never used upto that. So I think you can slit to some smaller packages like this:

Plus package: 1000MB - $8.25 x 12 = $99/yr

Starter #1: 100MB  - $0.95/mo (~ 1/10 Plus disksize)

Can sale 10 users = $0.95 x 12 x 10 = $114/yr (get more profit  15$/yr)

Starter #2: 250MB - $2.25/mo (~ 1/4 Plus disksize)

Can sale 4 users = $2.95 x 12 x 4 = $141.6/yr (get more profit  42.6$/yr)

Starter #3: 500MB - $4.95/mo (~1/2 Plus disksize)

Can sale 2 users = $5.95 x 12 x 2 = $142.8/yr (get more profit  43.8$/yr)

It's clearly more cheaper for starter users and suitable for many of users who's used dropbox for saving official work files (doc, xls, pdf...) (like me!)

I hope this ideas will be applied as soon as possible.

Thank you.

These wont be, sorry.

The $9.99 package has always been the same regardless of quota (e.g. it was for 50gb, then 100gb before 1TB).

Lots of reasons it wont decrease - basically it loses Dropbox money. Search the forums for it.
