You can choose to do what you want for it. For me I wont use Googledrive as I dont like the fact they scan your files to target you with adverts. So I'm quite happy with my $99pa deal (especially as I'm in the UK so get it for less due to currency fluctuations).
I get advertisements from Google for anything anyone in my household purchases online. If my wife buys a bra, I get bra ads. If my son buys an orthopedic boot for a sports injury, I get ads for orthopedic boots for the next six months. The practice is industry wide. If we buy a child's book as a birthday present for someone we know, Amazon Alexa thinks we will enjoy childrens songs. It's moronic, but apparently venture capitalists think it is clever.
And its also possible, certainly within the EU, to stop all of those adverts via opt-outs. That is, except when you are using a service which owns the advert system and has it in the T&C's that it happens. Personally the whole tailored adverts thing terrifies me - even our TV providers are now automatically opting you in to targeted adverts!
I got an email to come check out your new service. Lowest end is $10.50 Canadian and I get 1TB and a bunch of stuff. My Office 365 membership is $8.33 a month $99.99 for the year. I get 1TB storage and an office suite and a whole bunch of other things. I’m just not seeing myself paying more to get less. Will keep using your service but its not really there yet to give you more money. Even Google gives me unlimited storage on photos for FREE!!!!
