Now, I received an emal stating that Dropbox does not support Windows XP any more and that I appear to use PC with Windows XP running.
If you know that I use Windows XP, why don't you send me a prior notice rather than a one-day-after email?
Current Status: Unspecified
Emails have been sent out several times, starting in March of this year - this isnt a sudden thing, its was announced months ago.
I have never ever received any prior notices. I subscribe only Japanese email.
Did you really send emails to Japanese subscribers?
They were sent to every Dropbox user who had a linked XP client at the time.
Okay, I understand. The PC with XP is my third PC and I use it only when I need to use an XP application. That may be the reason why emails didn't reach me.
Thank you very much.
No problem, hope you have a great day
Does the XP client stop working? Pretty sketchy having a remoite kill switch built into your software!
It isnt a remote kill as such. They are stopping connections from XP devices to the server.
NO WARNING !!! Very Poor Customer Service ...
I only received ONE prior notification about ending Windows XP and it was months and months ago.
WHY did you not send out another notification a week or two ahead of this cut-off date?
I do not like how this was handled. It is NOT customer-oriented at all !!!
If you're using Dropbox, your computer is internet connected.
If you're internet connected, you shouldn't be using Windows XP. It's highly insecure to do so.
I'm confused... So, you WERE warned but took no action. Then when you weren't warned again and it happened, you complain that there was no warning. Do I have that right?
Notifications went out back in March, then again in July I believe. This forum has been filled with people discussing this since March. Tech news sites have posted articles about it. There has been plenty of warning that this was happening.
