Re-add upload progress bar

Level 4
Please re-add the [blue] progress bar that appears on the message prompt when a file is being uploaded.

This bar does at least two important things: lets the user know a file is not stuck (e.g. due to poor internet connectivity, which isn’t always reflected in the internet status icon); lets the user know how much of a file is left to upload (so they can determine if they have enough time to finish waiting for the upload to complete before attending to their next task which may require them to be out of DropBox or without an internet connection, or to instead cancel the upload early to try again later; something is obviously not intuitive if the user decides to cancel an upload to do something else when they may have only had to wait a half second more for the upload to complete, and a progress bar would’ve alerted them to that).

These issues are exacerbated by the fact that an upload completely stops without warning as soon as the upload screen is exited, even if the app is just minimized instead of closed. This exacerbating issue may be another area where improvements can be made, related but separate to the progress bar issue above.

I inquired about the progress bar issue before, wondering why the bar was no longer there when it used to be, and I was informed that it was intentionally removed. This is an example of a counterintuitive move - a feature that seemingly provides no discernible benefit to remove and significant benefits if present - so please re-add the progress bar as soon as convenient. Much appreciated.

Thanks for reporting. You'll see this fixed in the next update, coming in about two weeks.

@connorhawke - can you point me to where this happened? "I inquired about the progress bar issue before, wondering why the bar was no longer there when it used to be, and I was informed that it was intentionally removed."

That’s great to hear. That comment refers to an agent reply in ticket 6702264 which made it seem it was an intended change he said would provide feedback for instead of a bug.

@connorhawke - Thanks for the pointer. I took a look, and the agent just meant that the behavior has changed, not that it was an intentional change, but I see how that can be ambiguous. In any case, head to the app store in two weeks slightly smiling face

Still no progress bar. This is actually quite annoying.  It just say how many hours. No actual bar progressing as the file uploads. This should be standard with any upload service smh.

@BigZBeatZ It was fixed for me. But I’m encountering a new issue now, which is that Save to Dropbox stops working. They’re working on it.

@BigZBeatZ: Can you elaborate on which exact screen you're referring to? @connorhawke: We've fixed an issue in Save to Dropbox in v126 which should be going out early next week. Check for the update and see if that fixes things for you.
