Getting an error message 409.

Level 3

Hello.

I go to open a Word document in Pages from Dropbox.

When I do this, any uppercase words in the title are changed to lowercase.

When I attempt to change the words back to their correct case, I receive the error “The operation couldn’t be completed (dropbox.com error 409).

Please see attached image.

Apple Support believes it not to be their issue but yours. Any help would be great.

I’m running iOS 11.2.6 (beta) on an iPad Pro with latest version of Pages (released 29.3.1smiling face with sunglasses.

Look forward to to hearing from you.

Super User II
I'd suggest logging a ticket so Dropbox can have a look at it, however, as you are using a Beta of iOS I wouldnt expect a quick fix.

Hello.

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve emailed support.

The issue also also occurs on my iPhone which is not running a beta version of iOS.

Hopefully there’ll be a solution.

Thanks.

I got the same.

I think its because your filename contains a special character (like &).

Hey @Chuil, thanks for checking in with us here! As this is an outdated discussion, I’m wondering if you’ve seen that recently. Did renaming fix the issue for you by any chance Charles?

Hi Jane,

Indirectly.

In fact I discovered that dropBox files names cannot not start by a space character. If it was the case, download operation failed with error code 409.

So I suppresed the first space char, and the file was downloaded correctly.
