I get an error when trying to open my files. Any idea what happened?

hi hive. upon opening dropbox, all my files are non readable, and the file names have been changed to include "to get password email ... to [email removed by moderator]"

has my account been hacked?

any advice on restoring?

It hasnt been hacked, but, you have been infected by a ransomware virus. 

You need to clean your machines of the viruses and then request a rollback by following this article
