A folder was moved out of the Dropbox desktop folder by mistake, how can I undo this?

Problem: New user on Mac. I dragged a shared dropbox folder with wrong keyboard shortcut combination to my "Favorites" in the Finder, thinking I was making a shortcut, but instead it moved the folder (to the root of the Dropbox folder). Of course the Droboxs sync-app on the groups computers started replicating this change causing problems.  


  1. Main question. How do I reverse this? 
  2. I have closed down the app on my Macbook Pro. Can I reset the syncronication so that it's not causing more problems when i open it?

Hey there @Ksolsen,
What I would suggest is to allow the changes to sync, ie. allow the folder to be removed completely. This will mean that there won’t be any confusion with missing files or duplicates made etc. when we add the folder back.
To do this, you can relaunch/unpause the app, wait until it shows “up to date” so the folder is removed, and then you can add the folder back to the account. You will be able to simply drag and drop the folder back to the original location and then allow it to sync again.
I understand it may not be what you wanted to hear but this would be the safest and easiest method to undo what was done via the desktop.
