Are "Guest" views unique?

Hi,

After sharing a link that I've since closed, I wanted to track down a couple "Guest" visitors I saw in the activity.  To that end, I want to know if Guests visits in the activity stream are unique.  If I see "guest" appear twice, does that represent two accesses, two IP addresses, or an unknown number of visits in a certain time frame?

Thanks!

Hey there @mf8

Welcome to the Dropbox Community!

I'd be more than happy to help.

When you see a guest in your shared content, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a different user, but it generally means that it's a different browser session.

For example, if you see two guest icons, they may refer to two separate users, or it could be the same user from a regular browser and an incognito window.

I hope this helps clarify matters a bit!

Thank you.  Are browser sessions persistent?  Like, if a person kept there browser open for two days, and visited the page once each day, will that show up as one Guest or two?

Thanks again, this is helpful.

Thanks for getting back to me, @mf8

I'm afraid I'm not able to give you a precise answer, since it would depend on the browser itself. disappointed but relieved face

I understand that this may not be the ideal reply you were expecting, but let me know if you have any other questions!
