Can't upload an encrypted file - Connection issue.

Explorer | Level 3

I'm trying to upload a encripted file to my dropbox but when the file reach like 90% or its almost uploaded an error message appears saying that there was an error with the upload and my Internet connection failed and I have to re-upload my file again. I had trying to upload this file using other networks but the message keeps apperaring. The size of my file is 90 MB but I tried to upload a file of 2 MB encripted and the error message it's the same (This was tried using other networks too).

Why this is happening only with encripted files?

I'm using Firefox 70.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux 18.04.3 LTS with the Web interface of Dropbox, this was tried too on Windows 10 with Chrome, Opera and Firefox.

Thanks for reporting @Golb

I would like to start with asking a few questions to better understand the problem.

What is the size of the file you uploaded?

Does this connection error appear when you perform other actions online or only with uploading this file to Dropbox? What about other files?

Is your current location different than usual? Are you in another country at the time?

Please attach a screenshot of the error with your next response, if possible.

Thank you for the additional information.

1.- The size of the original file was 90MB but in order to give you the info that you ask for I tried to upload a file of 60MB.

2.- Until now, it only happends when I try to upload this type of file (.gpg) I don't know if this happen with other encrypted file extensions.

3.- No, it's the same location that I have uploaded all my files.

Thank you for the screenshots @Golb .

This file type is not supported and the web does not recognise this as a type that can be uploaded. This is due to the algorithm of the file.

No guarantee that this could work, but I suggest that you try from the desktop application instead.

Let me know if this worked for you please.

Have you closed the applications used to maintain the encrypted files? In the case of VeraCrypt, have you dismounted the container?

I'm having no issue uploading either GPG or HC files. They're successfully uploading both through a browser and when using the Dropbox client.
