Create Link from iMac

New member | Level 2

Right clicking on a Dropbox document using macOS 10.14.3 doesn't have an option to create a link. How do I create a link for an email?

Re: Create Link from iMac

Hey Brian & Carl - hope you're both doing fine today!

I moved your posts under the same place as they are relevant and referring to our shared links feature - I hope you don't mind.

@Carl4: This usually means that your desktop app is not running. Could you check if that's the case?

To do this, please take a look at the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar. When Dropbox is fully synced then you should see a tick followed by the words “Up to date” on the menu. If you do not see this then can you please let me know what the exact message being displayed reads?

Moving on to your concern now @Brian1980 , as you know, with Dropbox, you can create a sharable link to any file or folder in your Dropbox folder. Anyone with the link can view the contents, but can’t edit them.

Users with Dropbox Business or Dropbox Professional accounts can also set a password or an expiration date for links they create.
