Cannot read or write files in Documents folder

Explorer | Level 3

I had to uninstall dropbox from my laptop running windows 10 as my hard drive was running out of space. Once I did this, the entire Dcuments folders became inaccessible.  I can see the filenames but cannot edit or delete.  Any help to fix this issue will be highly appreciated.

If you're referring to the Documents folder within your user profile, then Dropbox would have nothing to do with that. Dropbox only uses its own folder. It has no effect on files or folders outside of the Dropbox folder.
