My dropbox folder is located in a 1TB HDD.

My dropbox folder is aprox 487ΜΒ and nothing else is located in this HDD.

The chase foldes is 442GB and i am getting a red Dropbox icon with "can't sync not enough free space)

When i delete the chase, the next day is full again.

Everything was ok for the last 2 years until few days ago when  sudenly this problem came up.

What is the solution? I have Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS.

Sunching has finished. Everything seems to be ok  now.

Deselecting a large folder from selective synch, give time to my PC for deleting these files and selecting for synch again the same folder was the solution in my case.

Hey there @andreas360, thanks for reaching out to us.

It sounds like the drive where you have the Dropbox folder on doesn't have enough space to sync all your files.

In general, deleting the cache may temporarily free up hard drive storage, but the folder may get recreated to help out with syncing. You can check out this thread on this.

Having said that, could you try selectively syncing some already synced folders?

Keep me posted!

My total dropbox files uploaded in the clound is 495.87GB.

My Total HDD space is 1.000GB (1T) and it is all dedicated to the dropbox folder, nothing else is written there. So there is no question about running out of free space.

Everything was running good until a broblem with files oved 2GB apear. they were in endless synching state. I had a broblem with 15 files. I removed them from my but the chase folded keeps filling all the free space (aprox 450MB) of my Drive.

Thanks for the additional info, @andreas360!

Since you mention that you had trouble syncing files larger than 2GB, could you check if you're running the latest stable version of the desktop app (91.4.548) which  may resolve this?

If you are, could you let me know if you're up to date or if it's still showing that it's syncing?

Let me know how it goes!

Via selective Sunch i "unsinched" a 30GB folder (not the larger one) and the day after dropbox started to run smooth and easy again.

Large files are now synched, the chase is almost empty and i have again lot of free space.

Now i am resinching the 30GB forlder again and everythin seems to be ok so far.

I will keep you updated when everything is sinched again.

Glad to hear that everything's working as it should, @andreas360

If anything else pops up, just give me a shout.

In the meantime, have a lovely day ahead!
