Converting from Smart Sync online storage back to local only. I do not want online storage.

New member | Level 2

I have to uninstall and reinstall DB on my computer, but now all my files are online.  I want all my files to be local, but it appears set up to make changing back to loacl confusing.  I have looked everywhere with no results.  Please help.

Hello @scubaairpig. Happy to help with this!

gear Go to the desktop Preferences and the sync tab and change the default Smart Sync setting to "Local".

Then navigate to your local Dropbox folder, right click it and set it to "Smart Sync" > "Local".

This way, your whole Dropbox will revert to local without even reinstalling!

Note pushpin A simple reinstall maintains the sync settings. Just for future reference, this advanced reinstall here can delete all syncing settings and traces of the app to start fresh. winking face

Hope this helps. Let me know if this worked for you.
