Difference between rewind and restore?

Helpful | Level 6

Still some unclarity on this for me. I have free account, and as I understand it, restore is available for 30 days, but rewind is not. Some files got deleted, I beleive, when files were being moved to a new location on one of my computers through the desktop app and the process crashed. I have been able to recover several files, but not all.

1 - I think I understand that even if I upgraded to a paid account, I would still have only those 30 days available right now, but that would increase as time moved forward.

2- would getting rewind today by upgrading offer me any extra access to those past, deleted files from the last 30 days?

3 Overall, what's the difference btwn restore and rewind.

The time for recovery of files would only change from the day of upgrade. So files deleted prior to today would still be subject to the 30 day restore process. Buying an upgrade will not increase that at all.

In terms of rewind vs. restore think of it as restore is almost a per-file/handful of files where as rewind moves the whole account back in time to before a catastrophic event happened.
