Do the colors of user initials mean anything?

Does a shared user with a grey circle on when viewing a document mean anything (i.e. user has deleted file), or are they randomly assigned?

Hello there @dominichare - how are you today?

From what I understand you're referring to the colored avatars of people that you share files or folders with - right?

When the color is vivid and not greyed out, it means that the user is previewing the file at the moment while when it's greyed out it means that they're not currently (pre)viewing the file - not that they have deleted a file or anything similar.
