Dropbox desktop shortcut path changing

New member | Level 2

I have recently moved my Dropbox folder from my C: drive to my F: drive. I know that this breaks the shortcut, and it needs to be recreated, so I have done this, and I have also changed the path in the Dropbox settings. However, the target of the shortcut occasionally switches back to the original C: drive location, thus rendering the shortcut useless and causing me to have to recreate it.

Does anybody have any idea why this might be, as it does not happen with other folders that I have moved between drives and created shortcuts?

Hey there @Zelatrix - sorry to hear about this.

As the functionality you described comes from your computer's OS and not Dropbox, could you provide a screenshot so I can have a visual too?

Also, under what circumstances have you noticed this happening? Is this F drive an external drive perhaps?

Any additional information will be much appreciated!
