Exif data : Photo Copy right is Dropbox for photo I uploaded and taken from my iphone

New member | Level 2

Hello,

As I was looking for the GPS Coordinate of some photos, I was surprised to see that in the exif meta-data of photos I have uploaded using dropbox, the exif data mentionned "Dropbox Inc." as Profile Copyright, here is a screenshot,

Capture d’écran 2019-02-09 à 11.09.04.png

This is quite astonishing as first I'm paying for this online dropbox service, and secondly I did not remember anything or anywhere in the application where I would have given the copyright of my photos to dropbox ?

As anyone face this questions before ?

Thanks you,

Best regards,

Zo

Hey there @rasatavohary - welcome to our forums and happy Monday!

Could you tell me where exactly are you seeing this information and if it would be OK if I reached out to you via email to the address you use for your forum's profile so we can have a further look into this with all of my tools available?

Ou wow, this is ugly 🤨

Just uploaded my photos. Can't see the EXIF data.

Please @dropboxTeam:
Photos without MetaData make no sense at all 😢!

Hi Walter,

It seems that Dropbox has purely batched all the photo online and removed silently what I've found a few month ago.

As I'm a business user, I would like to know if you could confirm me the following different points  :

- Are the data and files I'm uploading to Dropbox are only and stritecly only used for the purpose of the service provided by Dropbox ? As to know store it and make it available online ?

- If these files are photo, after uploading them in dropbox, are these photos my solely property and won't be changed in term of property by Dropbox ?

- In the process of uploading the file, how does Dropbox guarantee that the files are not silently modified in any way by dropbox ?

I'm a little worried about the way my data are taken care by dropbox,

I would happy to start a conversation and have feed-back from dropbox,

Best Regards,

Zo
