Files Checked Green But Not Appearing Across Devices

Level 2

Have files saving on my laptop that say they are synched and not appearing on my desktop. The only way to make them sync was to open again on laptop and resave. Then appeared. All other issues have been explored--restarting computers, restarting dropbox, checking selective sync. All works fine and Dropbox will insist--on both devices-- that all files have been synched--yet multiple files on laptop not appearing on desktop--unless I reopen on laptop and resave. Means I can't depend on Dropbox for its intended purpose.

As a first step, have you checked if there are any incompatible characters by running a bad files check?
Could you also confirm that you’re logged into the same Dropbox account by checking the email addresses connected to each computer device and the website? You can do this from:
If you’re still having trouble with this, could you send me a screenshot (without personal info) of what the Dropbox icon reads on each device when you click on it?
