Files not syncing between me and partner even though ticks say otherwise

Hi I'm having an odd issue with my business partner that I share files with through dropbox. We both have a seperate Dropbox account with a folder that we both share which we share business-related documents in.

I have since yesterday noticed certain folders and files are not updating and syncing even though dropbox claims they have synced with the green tick by them. I even see dropbox showing the multi arrowed updating symbol as he makes changes and saves these documents but the changes don't update on my end.

 

If I attempt to change these files that are out of date but my dropbox claims are upto date microsoft word acts strange and doesn't spell check them and doesn't save them correctly.

Note:I just checked the website version of dropbox and everything is correct and updated there so it just appears to be dropbox on my computer that isn;t updating correctly even though it claims to be.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks for repoting this issue. 

Try unlinking and relinking the Dropbox desktop application from the cloud. 

This will re-index your files for a little bit and then you should have the updated versions locally, after the app reports to be "Up to date". 

If the issue persists, get back to me with:

  1. The version of the desktop app Dropbox installed there.
  2. The file type of the files giving you this issue. 
  3. An example file name of one of the files that are not fully syncing. 
  4. The version of your Operating system.
