Folders from the site not syncing to my desktop machine

I am missing a whole Slough of Folders. One minute they were there, then they just disappeared! They are not in any deleted files, just gone. What could have possibly happened?


Is there someone that can help??? Of course these files include an entire year of work that require my attention today. :-(

Hey there @shannonlevy - sorry to hear that.

Can you take a look at the Dropbox icon in your taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Mac) and see if it is done syncing? When Dropbox is fully synced then you should see a tick followed by the words “Up to date” on the menu. If you do not see this then can you please let me know what the message being displayed reads?

If the files haven’t been fully downloaded yet, you can see the sync status by holding your mouse over the Dropbox icon while you can learn more about the sync icons in this Help Center article:

To see if there are files in your Dropbox that may have problematic file names, try our lookup tool:

Finally, you can view a full list of the characters (letters, symbols, or numbers) that may be incompatible with the operating system on your computer in this Help Center article:

If those files were accidentally deleted somehow and you can't find them on your deleted files page, you can give your events page a shot as well.

If you're only noticing this on a specific web browser, try another one and/or clearing your cache to exclude browser specific issues.
