How to share large size files in folder internationally

New member | Level 2

I have a folder size about 2.75GB to share with someone internationally. It contains about 30 audio files.Recipient will need to view and download to their computer for listening as they wish.  'Shared links' was suggested but have no experience with it.  Does it require recipient have dropbox account? Need a step-wise guide to set this up if it would be suitable. Need to know how to advise recipient how to access. Are there any limitations/restrictions that are relevant for recipient or sender for this to be successful and timely???My current dropbox account is 'basic' - -limited to 2GB??  i've not used it much to date--only when sending email that's too big -I get a prompt to use dropbox which I have done a few times.  Greatly appreciate detailed step-wise guidance !!

Dropboxer

Hey there @MJP1 - how are you today?

To immediately cut to the chase, you're correct that shared links are the way to go as in this way others will not require a Dropbox account - only access to a web browser and internet connection to access and download the files in question - with no edit rights whatsoever.

This is how to share with a link from dropbox.com directly:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Hover your cursor over the file or folder you'd like to share and click Share when it appears.
  3. If a link hasn't been created, click Create a link.
    • If a link was already created, click Copy link.
  4. The link will be copied to your clipboard. You can then paste it to an email, message, or wherever people can access it.

There's also a great tutorial about this on our official Youtube channel. Please feel free to take a look there too winking face
