Re: excel on line is not displayed as an option

Dropboxer

Hey there @nsarris - how are you today?

I guess this is expected as the file types you can edit through this integration at this moment are  these:

  • .docx
  • .xlsx (<5MB)
  • .pptx (<300MB).

At this point, you'll either need to download the mentioned file and edit it natively on your computer with the appropriate software (Microsoft Excel in this case) or convert the file -using a 3rd party app/service- to a supported format for edits while online.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions!

"Open With" option not showing on any devices.

Level 3

As of a few days ago, none of my files on dropbox are showing the "Open With" option, meaning I can't edit these files using excel online. This is really important to my useage of dropbox and this has only been a problem for a few days, before which I have been able to edit these files with ease using the "open with microsoft excel online".

Can anyone help me out as to why this option might have disapeered at random?

Hey there @MonsterStudios - sorry to hear about this.

Can you first let me know if you notice the same on an incognito window or another browser?

If you're still not seeing the 'Open With' button for your files within our website, please send me a screenshot of what you see to investigate further.

Thanks!

Not seeing Open button at ods file others work

Level 3

I can't see open or open with button on the web when I want to open an ods file. It worked for more than two years. It does not work on different computers.

Other files can be opened.

The same happens at Windows and IOS, Safari, Chrome, Explorer.

The problem came up gradually, one account worked longer. I deleted my account and signed up again, the same happened to the uploaded files.

Thanks

Hey there @camelofsson & @Tradobiz - sorry to hear you're having this issue too.

Can you try my initial suggestion out and let me know the results here?

Thanks!

Re: Not seeing Open button at ods file others work

Level 3

Hi Walter,

It does the same in incognito. It would not take a screenshot because the only different to normal is that instead of having open with (and offering excel online) I have a download button. The rest is the same.

I emhasize that pdf files work.

What is a bit strange, it takes to long to appear the preview comparing to earlier times.

Thanks

Hey all,

I just noticed a pattern on your reports and merged them together under the same thread to keep all the relevant information in one place.

Can you all go through the following article and let me know if you're still having issues with this?

In the meantime, I'll also ask about this internally and I will let you know once I have an update to share.

Thanks for your cooperation and patience in the meantime.

Hi Walter, thanks for your help!

I've tried going through incognito mode and through different browsers and still no luck. Do you have any more suggestions?
