I can't seem to access my files from the Dropbox folder or the website

Hello, I have saved files in a couple folders and now cannot access the information from either the desktop app or the website. I am not sure why it does that! I have not deleted anything.

Hey there @lshaw, sorry to hear about this.

Could you let me know the exact status of the desktop app on your computer to begin with?

Note that if the files haven’t been fully downloaded yet, you can see the sync status by holding your mouse over the Dropbox icon. You can learn more about the sync icons in this Help Center article:

To see if there are files in your Dropbox that may have problematic file names, try our lookup tool:

Finally, you can view a full list of the characters (letters, symbols, or numbers) that may be incompatible with the operating system on your computer in this Help Center article:
