I have an issue where my Finder crashes. Can you help?

New member | Level 2

I recently starting to have a Finder problem. It started after trying to view a TTF font. Finder crashes when it opens the Dropbox directory. I tried relocating the Dropbox to another drive, then Finder works until I go to Dropbox on that drive. When I quit the Dropbox desktop app the problem goes away. I had to install Commander One as a filemanager to be able to open my files.

macOS High Sierra version 10.13.6

Super User

Hi @HansVR, Just to let you know that Dropbox version xx.3.xxx is a beta build. You may want to install the stable build xx.4.xxx and see if the problem is resolved. Current stable build is 80.4.126. Also, in your account settings, you might need to toggle the Early releases off.

Hey there @HansVR

Did you get the chance to follow @Elixir's suggestions? How did they work out for you?

I have the same problem in ElCap and Sierra. Following the directions at Dropbox.com settings page does not work! Contacting Dropbox help for a long time about this. Their only suggestion, as we all wait for their engineers to fix it, is to uninstall/reinstall DB, and, after that fails, to unlink/link the account., Which also fails.
