We changed our business emails 2 years ago, my desk top drop box is fine but my phone and laptop on have only shared files in drop box. I think I set up phone and laptop with the new email. Help

Re: Missing Files

Super User
I think you are using different Dropbox account in your desktop and in laptop. If you think the Dropbox account connected to desktop is the right one, login to that account from other devices.

If you cannot remember which account is connected with your desktop. You can find that following way:

Click the dropbox icon in your task bar/menu bar. Select the gear/settings icon. Then select "Preferences". Go to "Accounts" tab. You will see your connected email.

Re: Missing Files

Hey Tricomontario, welcome to our Forum & thanks for getting in touch here on this question, let’s have a look at the possible scenarios below!

Firstly, elixir’s tip should be a good way to start investigating, though I’d like to point you towards a different direction, too. To my mind, the best way to determine what’s happening if you’re logged in on the same account across your devices would be to see if you’re syncing correctly.

Since the cause for your inability to see the files you’re uploading from your desktop to your phone could be an underlying syncing issue, can you make sure that you’re running the latest stable version of the application on your desktop (48.4.58) & it’s syncing correctly on your system tray Arrows Counter Clock? It would also be useful to confirm that you’ve installed all latest Windows updates (i.e. I’m assuming that you’re working on a Windows device).

Following, please ensure that you’re running the latest version of the Dropbox application on your phone (92.2.6) & you’ve installed all iphone OS updates.

Last but not least, you may have to run a test, in order to narrow down the possible causes & locate the discrepancy (i.e. clarify whether the issue is located on your desktop or phone). Can you try uploading a file via your desktop & via your phone & see if these appear on your Recents (online & on your iOS).

Please keep me updated on the outcome of the troubleshooting steps above in your next post & I’ll check back on this issue with you as closely as possible. Thanks again & I’m looking forward to hearing back from you on this discussion!
