I'm trying to back up my iPhone's camera roll but the process was interrupted, any ideas?

New member | Level 2

I'm having a massively difficult time basically trying to entirely back up my iPhone's camera roll. I started initially with the system syncing the entire thing, and that got about 1700 of them, but there's another 11k to go. I left it to run overnight lat night, and I thin the phone and/or PC going to sleep interrupted the process.

So, after extensive online searching and reading, I was unable to find any way to either contiune the process or to go through and select day after day after day after day.

I've done the latter partially, and it took me over 15min to select from presernt day back to dec '18. Sure, I understand that's the nature of how many days have images on them to select, but why in the actual hell is there not an option to select and entire month or year, or god forbid just the entire camera roll?!

Am I just missing something.
Please help me same hours and hours of my life.
TIA!

How are you trying to upload them @mdbuch ?

Why not just install Dropbox on a computer and connect your iPhone and set up Camera Uploads, or, install Dropbox directly to the iPhone and use camera uploads on that?

I tried that method and it stopped uploading a couple times.

Currently, I'm using the method where you select "create+" from the bottom toolbar on the IOS mobile app, select day after day, and then begin the process. It took about 15 minutes for me to select one day at a time from now back to December, and even though I've got the computer and phone sleep modes turned off, the process still manages to interrupt somehow repeatedly. Luckily, I don't have to select the days' images again, but every time I stop monitoring the process for more than an hour or so, I come back to see the app magically closed itself down.

It will close itself yes, but, thats due to Apple restrictions I'm afraid.

Unless you use Camera Upload then theres no work around to what you are doing and keep tapping the screen to make sure the uploads stay active.
