I need to download a video locally to be able to view the entire video, how can I do this?

New member | Level 2

I understand dropbox limits video length viewing to 15 minutes.  Then I see it says unless you download locally.  Not clear on what that means ???  Does someone have to have a dropbox account to do that?  Or can they click somewhere/somehow to download the entire file?  (1GB).  Thank you.

Re: Video length

Hey there @Al H.2,

Downloading a file locally just means to download the file to your computer. You can download the files/folders directly from the website if you have it stored within your Dropbox account.

If you have the desktop app installed on your computer and it's syncing all your files, you can simply open the video locally on your computer from the Dropbox folder.

Finally, if the video is shared via a shared link, then the recipient will have the option to download the content from the top right corner of the page when viewing the link. With a shared link, the recipient doesn't need to have a Dropbox account to be able to download the video.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions - Thanks!
