A client sent me a link to DropBox with several dozen documents to review.  I see a page with the documents.  There are also 2 folders on the page (call them A and B) to sort the docs so that at the end there will be just the A and B folders.  However, I am not able to drag and drop the docs into the folders.  I can copy a link, but no paste command appears to complete the action.  Although I can view the docs I believe that this is not a 'live' DropBox page.

Thoughts? Solutions?

Sounds like they sent you a share link to the folder, which is a view-only method of sharing. If you need to be able to manipulate the files, you'll need to be invited to the folder.

Re: Moving Files

Dropboxer

Hey there @Penn,

As a first step, could you please clarify if these are shared folders that you can view inside your Dropbox account online or if you were sent a shared link to the folders?

If these are shared folders, could you please let me know if you have edit permissions or view-only rights?

Any additional info and screenshots (without personal info) illustrating the behavior would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!
