My folders don't sync after choosing them from my selective sync settings

My selective sync feature isn't working. For years I've been using this feature by going to the dropbox desktop icon, selecting preferences, selecting sync & clicking "Choose folders to sync".  But now, when I check folders that I would like to work with & then click update, they aren't showing up in my Dropbox App or my Dropbox Finder. I need to access these folders! They're showing up in dropbox.com, but not syncing to my computer. 

 

ALSO (maybe related?) my laptop has been syncing 187 files for over a week now. The number isn't changing and it isn't updating. My team members are having similar issues and we can't see each others updates!

Hey @carretive, let's see what we can do here. 

It sounds like your desktop app is still trying to sync content, which could be why you're not seeing the folders you chose to download from your selective sync settings yet. 

As a first step, could you try disabling your antivirus temporarily and configuring your firewall to work with Dropbox?
