If I am the owner of a folder that I have shared with 5 other individuals. If they create a subfolder are they now the owner of that subfolder or am I still the owner of the subfolder since I am the owner of the parent folder?

Additionally, can they share one of the subfolders to other members, not in the initial group?

Thanks for this question @Albinson.

Glad to respond to your first thread in our Community and welcome you.

The answer is you! grinning face with smiling eyes Normally the one that creates a folder in Dropbox is the owner. However, when users create it inside a folder that is yours, the sharing permissions are on the top level (your folder level) and so you automatically become the owner of this sub-directory.

pushpin Remember, when you have folders inside other folders you can only share one level. Read about this here

I have another quick question. If my folder name is ABCD and I have shared it with another member can they change the folder name to lets say EFGH? If they do change the folder name then does the folder name also change on my account or only theirs?

So Basically on my account its still ABCD and on theirs, it's EFGH.

The name would change only for the one that renamed the folder. We also have a Help center article about this, that includes a super useful video with tips for renaming or moving shared folders. grinning face https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/share/rename-move-shared-folder

If you have more sharing questions, I am here for you. Cheers!
