Providing download access to music files

I am submitting music to radio stations that require a download link. I don't want to use a service like Soundcloud because anyone can then download my music. I would like to use Dropbox (only "public" to who I send a link to--so essentially hidden) but I'm confused by the repeated use/referral of (file being) "view only" when I read instructions for doing it through dropbox. (I don't want them to only view the dang file--they need to DOWNLOAD it!) Can someone please provide explicit instructions for how I do this without any "gotchas" or "esoteric/hidden caveats".

Hey there @brozr - happy new Year and welcome to our forums!

Now, can you tell me what seems to be the issue here?

Note that with Dropbox, you can create a sharable link to any file or folder in your Dropbox folder. Anyone with the link can view and download the contents, but can’t edit them.

[Users with Dropbox Business or Dropbox Professional accounts can also set a password or an expiration date for links they create.]

I am part of a singing group and we learn our part by hearing music files put on drop box I managed to access these files recently but forgot the original password I used on that occassions.

If you're referring to your Dropbox account's credentials and if you don't remember your password indeed, or you need to reset it, you can visit our website here:

https://www.dropbox.com/forgot

Please enter the email address associated with your Dropbox account. You'll then receive an email from no-reply@dropbox.com with the steps to reset your password.

If you don't receive an email after a reasonable amount of time, please check your spam folder to ensure that no-reply@dropbox.com is not blocked. You can also add no-reply@dropbox.com to your address book and request another password reset email.
