Smart Sync is experiencing an issue

My Dropbox says that the Smart Sync is experiencing an issue (as shown in the picture). All the files/folders with a gray check cannot be opened. I could right-click the files, choose "Smart Sync" and "Local" to make it work. But it still shows "is experiencing an issue". What's the cause of this? And will this happen in the future when someone shared a file with me?

Hi @simiao , thanks for reaching out about this!

Could you reinstall the Dropbox desktop application to ensure you have the latest and most up-to-date version? 

After you reinstall, reboot your device as well so that all the updates are complete.
