Two computers, both "up to date" both with different files

As far as I can tell, the latest dropbox is junk and does not work. I have two computers, a laptop, and a desktop and I work on both off and on all day. I use dropbox so that it keeps the work updated so when I move, I always have the most recent files with me.

Now after 12 hours, I checked both machines and they both say they are updated, but they are completely out of sync. 

A billion-dollar company that charges me over $10 a month for a product that does not actually work. Bull **bleep**

Sorry to hear about this frustrating issue @theNaturalist

If your machines are "Up to date" and you are seeing different files in them there are two things that could be happening. 

  1. You could have different selective sync settings without realizing. Steps to check your selective sync preferences
  2. Especially if your computers have different OS, your files might have incompatible characters that cannot sync from one device to the other. 

dividers Please go through the list of the characters that can cause syncing issues. 

If you find that this is the problem, renaming the files will help then sync.
