Viewing thumbnails in Showcase

Why is it that I cannot see thumbnails/preview of photos in some Showcases but can in others?

Is this a file size issue?

Hey there @GalenChandler  - how are you today?

I guess you've excluded browser specific issues by changing browsers (or an incognito window) and clearing your browser's cache, right?

Next thing to check here is if the files that aren't producing a thumbnail are still actually located in your Dropbox account. If, by any chance, you're getting the message that the Showcase ‘Couldn’t load content’, this can occur for two reasons. Either the file itself was deleted from Dropbox or the link to the file was deleted from Dropbox.

Moreover, bear in mind that Showcases can preview the same file types as those shown on and you can see a full list of file types and sizes that preview here:

A last thing to note here is that previews of files within a Showcase can be affected by the settings for shared links with in your account too. If your shared links have any of the following restrictions those files will not preview in your Showcase:

  • Password protection
  • Only members of your team with the password can access
  • Only members of your team can access
  • Only you can access.

You can check your link settings by following the directions in our Help Center here if needed:
