Why is my video from Facebook just a text file?

Can you upload a video from Facebook to Dropbox? When I did it was just text.

In general, Dropbox doesn’t alter or edit your files in such a way. If you upload, for example, a .mov file, the file is added and synced across like a .mov.
 
Having said that, if you’d like to add a video file from a third party app or another website, you’ll have to download it locally to your computer and then upload it manually.
