Re: drag and drop files to a third part online drop box

Level 3

I read that I can only share them as read only. I don't know what's different from what I used to do (I didn't even HAVE dropbox then!), which was upload them to the folder after editing. As far as I know, they then wouldn't be able to put them in the next folder they go into. What a nightmare.

As I mentioned previously, shared links are read only and that can’t be changed.

Shared folders however can allow edit access, though these folders need to be connected to a Dropbox account for this feature.

The only way to upload to a Dropbox account when you don’t have one is via a file request

There is (and was) no other way to add a file to a folder with edit access if you don’t have a Dropbox account of your own. If you could clarify how you were able to do so in the past, this would be helpful!

Re: drag and drop files to a third part online drop box

I didn't have a dropbox account at first and could just upload to the third-party's pages.

But it's fixed. Turns out when I got my new computer, I added a dropbox account with my personal email. But third party had used my work email. I  had no idea email was related to dropbox and so never thought of it.

Thanks for all your help!
