starting to pull hair out about permanently delete problem

New member | Level 2

I am using only 3.62 of my 5.5 GB space indropbox.  I had some folders of pics that I wanted to delete.  I deletete first, then go into permanantly delete, to delete the folder.  IT WILL NOT DO.........this is what  I get:

Acreen with a heading......"7 items couldn't be permanently deleteted", with a list of the folders (with pics inside), and the message to the right of each folder is........

"Ask the owner to help permanently delete this with this screen"

WTF?  I AM the owner.  None of these folders are being shared.  What do I do NOW?  I keep getting the message that I am out of space over and over again.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Please!!

Hi there @jackiesr,

When you try to permanenthly delete folders, you mention that you're getting the error message to:

Could the folders you're trying to permanently delete be part of a shared folder instead?

Please bear in mind that if you’re a member of a shared folder, you can’t permanently delete files or folders, except for content that you added and immediately deleted.

Additionally, if you're getting the notification that you're running out of space, permanenthly deleting files/folders won't reduce the quota usage in your account as already deleted content doesn't count against your storage.

You can find more information about this in this Help Center article.

To get your account under your account's space limit, you can:

I hope this helps to some extent, but please let me know if you have any other questions or require further assistance.
