Dropbox Always starting slowing down Mac OS

Dropbox is always starting and everything is slow. Network is fine, and nothing else is open. I just restarted with all off and waited. I'm still waiting.

Hey there @Bruce S.18 - sorry to hear that!

As I understand it, your desktop app's status is stuck at "starting", is this right? 

Could you ensure that there's no firewalls, antivirus/security programs or a proxy/VPN setting that could be preventing our software from connecting to the internet properly? 

While you're at it, you can also check the following Help Center article which addresses the most common factors causing high CPU usage - I think it might also help in your case: https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/high-cpu-usage

I hope this information helps and please let me know what you find!

PS: Should the issue persist, please send me a screenshot of the app's status as shown on the affected computer.

I believe the problem is my computer, and a replacement is on the way. The iMac is 5 years old, and has already had acouple of drive failures, and this slowig down is the symptom. I'll let ou know if the replacment has the same problem.
