If you’ve returned to Windows 1803 or 1809, and you’re still unable to install the Dropbox desktop application, did you try all the steps in my previous post with the advanced reinstall?

Do you still get the same error message?

The installer logs should be visible in either one of these locations:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Dropbox\installer\l
%APPDATA%\Dropbox\installer\l

Copying and pasting them into File Explorer will take you directly to that location.

Perhaps you could post a small section of that log, excluding any personal info (locations etc)

I’ve forwarded your comments to our dev team in order to investigate this matter further. In the meantime, if possible, you’ll need to return to the stable build of Windows in order to get the Dropbox desktop application syncing again.

Yep.. Seems to be an insider build issue. While the Dropbox application did work fine, the install itself does not, e.g. I upgraded to the newest insider build and had no issues, but I had to format my system, and now I cannot install!

I have the same problem with Windows 10 Insider Preview 18329.1. The error message says that Dropbox-Update couldn't be installed due to error code 0x80096010.
