This is great, but what if we've used Smart Sync, and the files are only available on dropbox.com? I have a set of very large files that I've stored only online (not locally), to preserve space on my laptop.
Files or folders marked Online-only through Smart Sync should still be picked up by the DIR command in Windows because the reference files are still on the drive. Folders you've removed with Selective Sync will not be picked up because there's no trace of them on the computer.
Why not? It's not particularly difficult and all other VDR providers have this functionality.
For starters, Dropbox isn't a VDR. It's simply a file synchronization service. If the files don't exist in the folder that is being listed (i.e. a local folder, such as Dropbox), then the OS can't include them in the file list.
I would like to print a list of the folders I have in Dropbox; and folders within folders; and lists of files within folders. Is this possible? If not, why not? I know I can do a screen shot from Windows Explorer, but it would be nice to have an editable list.
