Desktop App Only Opens Windows Explorer, not GUI

Running Windows 7. Installed desktop app. Put icon in task tray. Click on icon and a Windows Explorer window opens showing the contents of my Dropbox folder on my C drive. I can successfully put files into this folder and view them on the web, so it is syncing. Here's the problem: The graphical user interface on my desktop (similar to the web site) does not open. Oddly, I had it running earlier today, but I had to uninstall Dropbox and reinstall it using another email address. Since then the GUI doesn't load. Baffled.

Hi @RandalC - welcome to the Dropbox Community!

From what I gather, you must be referring to our new desktop app - right?

Can you send me the exact status of the desktop app as shown within your system tray and the options you get when you access its preferences?

Do you see an option for 'Open folders in' at all? 

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there Randal!

Walter solved it. I had to go the the DB icon on the right of the task tray, right click on that, click on my user icon on the upper right, select Preferences/General/Open Folders in [Dropbox desktop app]. Thanks Walter
