Dropbox 3.15.51 broke (hijacked) QuickLook on OS X!

New member | Level 1

Yesterday QuickLook stopped working on my OS X machine for file types such as PDF, PNG, JPEG, etc.  Finally I managed to track down the problem: the system wants to use a QL plugin that came with Dropbox:

Dropbox.app/Contents/Library/QuickLook/DropboxQL.qlgenerator

I am not the only one with this problem.

http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/229285/reassociating-quicklook-file-associations

Can you please give priority to this problem and fix is as soon as possible?  I, like many other people, depend both on a functioning Dropbox and a QuickLook.

There's not good reason why Dropbox should hijack preview generation for these file types.

Same problem here : there's a conflict with DropboxQL.qlgenerator and QLStephen for me. Renaming DropboxQL.qlgenerator to whatever else solved the problem.

On GitHub, there are people affected too : https://github.com/whomwah/qlstephen/issues/46

Seems to me a good idea to correct this really quickly...

We encountered the same issue here with QLStephen + DropboxQL.qlgenerator for images.

I don't even know, WHY i need a DropboxQL!?

The only FAST solution is to delete DropboxQL …!?
