Dropbox interferes with MS Word Reader Mode

When I open a file in Microsoft Word, it opens in Reader Mode. Normally in Reader Mode I can double click images to zoom into them, but when Dropbox is running the image appears then immediately disappears a split second later. When I exit Dropbox it works as expected. This behavior is consistent for documents that are saved in Dropbox as well as documents not saved in Dropbox.

 

I am running Windows 10, Microsoft Word 16.0.4549.1000, 64-Bit

Hey there @mheerschap  - sorry to hear about this. 

Since you mentioned that this behavior is persistent for files that don't reside within your Dropbox Folder, it makes me think that the real culprit is something else - not our desktop app. Let's have a look now!

Just to make sure we've excluded all other possible factors, can you please provide more information about your current setup and configuration?

Do you have any pending updates for your computer's OS and/or Microsoft Word itself? If you do, could you apply them, reboot your computer and let me know if you notice the same behavior?

Hello Walter,

My OS is up to date. This has actually been a persistent issue for some time now across multiple machines. As mentioned I am running Windows 10, Microsoft Word 16.0.4549.1000, 64-Bit. My dropbox desktop version is v72.4.136.

It is still an issue. I've found quitting and restarting dropbox seems to fix the issue, at least temporarily.
