Dropbox is stuck and I can't even uninstall it

Hi. It's more than a year I have been syncing my dropbox folder on an external drive and everything used to work fine. Now, since a couple of hours ago, dropbox application is stuck. I have a Mac OSX 10.12. At the same time I use dropbox on other machines, like a windows 10 and everything looks fine.

 

On my Mac when trying to unistall the program it says "it cannot be done due to some extensions using dropbox" even if dropbox is closed and not running. I relaunched my mac sevral times, updated dropbox app but nothing changes, dropbox does not sync

Hey there @rickyceconi

Welcome to the Dropbox Community! I'd be more than happy to assist. 

As a first step, could you have a look at your OS's activity monitor and see if there are indeed any tasks running associated with your desktop app? 

If you do find some, try ending the tasks, ensure that all your files in your Dropbox folder are synced online to the website, and then attempt to uninstall the app once again.

it looks like there was a problem with the hard drive, think it is sorted now
