I selected only one folder to sync, but everything started syncing. What can I do?

I bought a computer for my assistant to use and I only want ONE folder to sync/download to her computer but when I installed dropbox on her computer.... even though I select only that folder in the advanced settings...it's putting ALL OF MY FILES AND FOLDERS in her computer. It literally says only the folder you select will be on the computer but then it put them ALL ON! Please advise

Hey @monhershaft, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the setup!

It seems very strange indeed that this should happen. thinking face

To reset the app and try and apply selective sync again before the initial sync, I'd suggest doing an clean advanced reinstall of the desktop app.

Once you've done this, can you then try again through the "Advanced settings" to select the one folder?

You can even deselect all folders and then selectively sync the one folder through the desktop app once it's running.

Just to note too, I was able to lcoate your open ticket with our Support team and I've followed up there. Feel free to get back to me in either place.
