QNAP NAS Compatability

QNAP NAS Compatability

Hi,

We are a Dropbox business user looking at replacing our old Windows 2008 server running Dropbox with a QNAP NAS running Dropbox. We want to continue sharing directories/files with 7-15 remote users  all running Win 7 and Win 10 PCs and laptops. Is this possible? If so do you have any preferred model of QNAP NAS and installation suggestions?

Dropbox itself does not support any NAS set up.

QNAP is basically using the API to force itself to work with Dropbox.

From what I've read on here its one of those systems that either works superbly without issue or doesnt work at all - and then trying to get support from QNAP is difficult (as Dropbox wont/cant support it).

Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated. It's what we expected and have developed a workaround.

QNAP has Cloud Drive Sync - see https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/tutorial/article/connect-to-your-cloud-storage-smoothly-with-cloud-dr...

It does work on our TS-212 (running version 4.3.3.0361), but up till now it seems to be (too) slow. Might be due to the old TS-212 though.
