I want to remove the dropbox symbol that shows up on the excel scroll bar.  It is always in the way and is very irritating.  Is there a way to remove it?

Hey there @skipstark - how are you today?

From what I gather you must be referring to the Dropbox Badge - right?

If you'd like to disable the Dropbox badge, you can do so by clicking on the Dropbox icon in your system tray, then the gear icon, then Preferences. You'll then have the option to choose when you'd like to see the Dropbox badge: "Always show", "If others present" and "Never show."

To completely disable the Dropbox badge, select "Never Show" from the drop down menu as that will prevent Dropbox from showing the badge on your Office documents.

For more information on how to disable the badge, please see the following help article:

This is not working for me. Currently Dropbox is set to "Never show" and Accessiblity access is OFF yet it STILL SHOWS for Excel.

I do not want this badge or like how Dropbox hacks my system like this. How do I get rid of it?

Sorry to hear that @yippy3000. Can you turn the accessibilty to ON and then try disabling the badge anew?

Keep me posted on your results!

That seems to have done it. The fact that Dropbox was able to bypass the accessiblity security setting in macOS is very concerning to me that dropbox is modifying the kernal which is a very dangerous practice.
