"Could't start Dropbox" Permissions/OperationalError Windows 10.

Recently, I suddenly received the following error:


I tried reinstalling dropbox but that did not fix the error. Here is the error log:

Sorry to hear you are getting this error @rscheidl

Welcome to the Dropbox Community. 

As you can see in the last line of the error log you provided me with, Dropbox is reporting an Operational disk I/O error. In simple words, when this happens, the Dropbox desktop app can't read from your hard drive. Usually this has to do with an underlying hardware issue. slightly frowning face

Please have your hard drive backed up and checked by a professional. No worries about the Dropbox files you have saved on the cloud. They cannot be affected by a hard drive failure. White check mark
